‘Who is Gen Z?’ Outline

1 – Goal:

Introduce people to who Generation Z is and try to destroy any preconceived notions they may have. Give information on what makes them different from previous generations, events that have shaped them, and major characteristics of the generation.

2 – Audience:

  • Gen Z
  • parents of Gen Z
  • anyone with an interest in learning about the young generation

3 – Core Information:

  • naming of Gen Z
  • years of Gen Z
  • generation shaping events, characteristics that have emerged as a result

4 – Detailed outline (each paragraph must have a main topic/information):

  1. Title: Who is Gen Z?
  2. Introduction: basic facts (years, naming; relation to millennials and other generations)
  3. 1st paragraph: differing characteristics from other generations (speaking up for beliefs- climate change, mental health; boycotting companies/ certain products)
  4. 2nd paragraph: ‘Digital Natives’ (grown up with constant technology, always getting new technology)
  5. 3rd paragraph: major events that have shaped Gen Z (same-sex marriage, 2008 recession, women world leaders, 1st black president)
  6. Conclusion: summarize and connect all points
  7. Where are photos going to be placed?
    1. Photo of gen z: very beginning, before story
    1. Climate change rally: after 1st paragraph
    1. Gen Z on social media: inserted in 2nd paragraph
    1. Pride parade:  inserted by 3rd paragraph and conclusion
